The Eating Disorders Foundation (EDF) is a charitable organisation providing support services in NSW for those affected by eating disorders. These services include support for sufferers pre, during and post treatment, support for families and carers, early intervention programs, relapse prevention and online and telephone counselling.

Many people believe eating disorders are a choice. Sadly this misconception can mean sufferers remain untreated and without support for the duration of their illness. Eating disorders are silent killers, with the mortality rate of anorexia nervosa being the highest of any psychiatric illness.

EDF does not receive any government funding and must rely on the support of its benefactors to continue its services.

About The Pearl Ball 2008

The Pearl Ball is EDF’s much loved annual fundraising and awareness event.

By attending and giving your support to this event, you will make a significant and meaningful contribution to EDF’s ability to help the thousands of sufferers in NSW.

This signature event aims to raise over $500,000 this year to ensure its good work can continue. To achieve this - we need your help.

Ben Fordham, multi award winning Channel 9 journalist and EDF Ambassador, will join us as MC at the 2008 Pearl Ball, which will be held at Sydney's Four Seasons Hotel. It promises to be one of the highlights of the social calendar for 2008 – an evening of glamour, goodwill and generosity.

The evening will include a performance by Lisa Hunt and her extraordinary band “Forever Soul”

There will be dinner, dancing and a live and silent auction.
